Dupont Circle Street Music

Taken near the farmers market in Dupont Circle.

A few weeks ago, I spent a few hours walking around Dupont Circle looking for some creative street photography. I started at the farmers market, where I found this great street musician. While his music was good, I liked the fact that he was playing in front of a large white truck….basically making a nice background. Click here for complete slideshow. I also got some good shots of the chess players in the park. I will post some of those later. By the way, when it comes to street photography, Dave Beckerman is one of the best out there. Day Drive to Altoona, Pennsylvania–Trains

A friend of mine asked if I wanted to drive to Altoona, PA to see the Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark. I could explain but it would be easier if you just clicked the link and got the expert explanation. I went for the photography and less about the history. The shots at the curve were not great but we took a drive into Altoona and found some really neat train sites. At the end of Altoona (I think west end) we found a overpass that provided a great vantage point to see the trains in operation–see pictures below. I’d like to go back, especially if I could get permission to enter the working train shops to photograph up close.
